SHADOW (left)- 28 year old brown Quarter Horse gelding. We have owned him for 18 years and our program is dedicated to his understanding of each child that rides him. His patience and acceptance of all his riders, large and small, makes him irreplaceable. He was chosen as NARHA Region 2
Horse of the Year in 2005.
SNICKERS(right)- 30 (or so) year old All-American mix gelding pony. We have owned him since 2003 and he has proven to be a wonderful beginner's pony. His surefootedness and Eeyore-type personality makes children feel safe and secure. He was chosen NARHA Region 2 Horse of the Year in 2008.
POPSICLE (left)- 20 year old pony arrived in February 2010. She has "been around the block" as a childen's riding pony, so she is sensitive to the children that ride her.
CASH (right)- Cash came to us in August 2004 after retiring from barrel racing. He's learning to slow down and enjoy the easy life of a therapy horse at age 27. His enthusiasm and eagerness to please is passed on to his riders.
PONCHO (left)- 20 (or so) year old brown and white paint gelding joined us in March of 2005. He is a retired trail horse. His slow pace and even temper make him a perfect match for children with balance issues. Poncho has become the "mount" for our candidates to ride their pattern on for their NARHA Instructor Certification testing.
BISCUIT (right)- 12 year old Appaloosa gelding arrived in November 2009. He is learning to be patient and understand the needs of his riders.
CLEMENTINE (right)- She is 14 years old, arrived in May of 2006 from a mini farm in Jackson, N. J. After her foal was born in 2007, Clementine started taking on our smallest riding students. She also works with our wheelchair participants in the grooming program.
